PHILADELPHIA, PA — Tiffany Vann, a West Philadelphia native, community leader, and grassroots organizer, today announced her candidacy for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 192nd District. Vann, a working mother and founder of a Philadelphia-based media company, is running on a platform focused on affordability, education, and protecting homeowners from rising property taxes.
“I’m not a career politician—I’m one of you,” said Vann. “I’ve worked multiple jobs and still couldn’t make rent. I’ve sat in freezing classrooms in schools that gave up on us. I’ve watched families get pushed out of neighborhoods they built. I’m running because the people of Philadelphia deserve a representative who has actually lived their struggles, not just studied them.”
Vann grew up in West Philadelphia and attended the city’s public schools. As a young mother, she worked several jobs to provide for her two children while facing the housing instability that many working families know all too well. In 2022, she founded a media company dedicated to telling the stories that politicians ignore and launched a youth mentoring program to give Philadelphia’s next generation a platform to learn and grow.
Her work in media led to coverage opportunities with both President Biden and President Trump. She went on to lead grassroots teams across Philadelphia for Americans for Prosperity, educating communities on state legislation and mobilizing voters to hold elected officials accountable. She has been a consistent presence at protests and community actions, advocating for policies that support working families and small business owners.
“Our current representatives are more focused on being politically correct than on correcting the problems in our communities,” Vann continued. “I’m bringing something different to Harrisburg: clarity, passion, and a refusal to back down. This isn’t about party. This is about people.”
Vann’s campaign will focus on three core priorities:
Making Life Affordable for Working Families — Fighting for fair wages that match the cost of living, paid family and medical leave, and stronger protections for workers against employer loopholes and misclassification.
Fixing Our Public Schools — Demanding adequate funding, accountability for how school budgets are spent, and safe, healthy learning environments for every child in the district.
Protecting Homeowners from Rising Property Taxes — Pursuing alternative revenue sources to lower property taxes, ensuring fair assessments, and expanding relief programs to keep longtime residents in their homes.
“The American dream of owning a home, sending your kids to a good school, and building a life in your community shouldn’t be out of reach,” said Vann. “But for too many families in Philadelphia, it is. I’m going to Harrisburg to change that.”
